SPEL Supports Rapid Relief Team with QLD Flooding – Mary River

SPEL proudly supports the Rapid Relief Team who are a Not For Profit organisation. RRT delivers hope and relief to communities and people in need in flood , fire or humanitarian needs.

The RRT Director, Lester Sharples, said he was pleased RRT could support the Marlborough community in mitigating flood water entering their homes and businesses. The RRT brand new Sand Bagger was deployed for the first time churning out more than 6,000 sandbags which were used to prevent rising flood waters around the Mary River, Maryborough QLD.

SPEL’s, GM, Andy Hornbuckle, along with the support of Leon Attwood, Toby Attwood, Chad Wright, and Jethro Bryan-Brown arrived at 4am Sunday (28 February 2022) morning to lend a hand. They assisted in sandbagging 1,100 tonnes of sand and dished out 1,000 hot meals to the emergency workers and locals displaced by the flood water.

If you would like to support the RRT please make a donation. Your donation will go towards supporting communities in need and ensure the latest equipment, such as the “Sand Bagger\”, can be deployed in times like the unprecedented QLD floods seen in 2022.
